SUMMARY:25th Annual Halifax Health-Hospice 5K Run/Walk
DESCRIPTION:Join us for this year's 25th Annual Halifax Health Hospice 5K Run & Walk on Saturday\, November 7th at 8:00am at the Port Orange City Center\, presented by the Root Family Foundation. Sign up today at www.halifaxhealth.org/hospice5k. \n \nSponsorship opportunities are available. For information on sponsoring the event\, please contact alee.frappier@halifax.org or call 386-425-8789. \nBecause of the support from our community\, this race has reached its 25th year and has raised close to $800\,000 for our Family Caregiver Program since it began in 2001. \n \nThe Hospice 5K brings out a mixture of the area's top competitive runners\, as well as hundreds of more casual runners\, walkers and families. Walkers are welcome! All 5K participants will be professionally timed and awards given to the top 3 male and female finishers in various age group categories. \n Race day at the Port Orange City Center is fun for the whole family with sponsor booths\, vendors\, games and includes a free kid's entry (age 12 and under with a paying adult). \n \nFunds raised from the 5K Run & Walk will benefit the Family Caregiver Program which plays an integral role in the health of both the patients and their caregivers. This relief program helps the caregivers so they can better help their loved ones through the end-of-life journey.
