Board Builders: Nonprofit Workshop – Building Better Boards

The Southeast Volusia Chamber of Commerce invites nonprofit leaders, board members, and community partners to Board Builders: Nonprofit Workshop – Building Better Boards, a high-impact nonprofit governance workshop designed to strengthen boards and build more effective organizations across Southeast Volusia.

This interactive nonprofit board training takes place Tuesday, January 27 at noon, with lunch included. Advance registration is required—please register by January 26 for lunch headcount.

Presented by AdventHealth and sponsored by Atlantic Coast Church, this session focuses on the fundamentals every strong nonprofit board needs to succeed.

What You’ll Learn

Participants will gain practical, immediately applicable tools covering:

  • Board criteria and best practices
  • The process for selecting and recruiting board candidates
  • Effective board onboarding and orientation
  • An overview of Robert’s Rules of Order
  • Clear roles and responsibilities for board members and leadership

This workshop also kicks off the Board Builders: Nonprofit Workshop Series, with progressive, high-impact training across three sessions on January 27, April 7, and August 5. Each session is designed to build on the last—supporting stronger governance, strategic alignment, and long-term nonprofit sustainability.
